If this occurs, repeat this step, but select a higher resolution output media. Click the "Audit" button to display the Audit Space dialog box. Jot down or memorize the component with the largest percentage and then click "OK.
Click the name of the relevant component from PDF Optimizer's list of components. For example, if you noted "Fonts" as the largest space consumer, click "Fonts" from the list of components. Acrobat displays controls for optimizing the component. Always comforting to know that Adobe is so keen on fixing stuff for us. I'm wondering, when did this problem generally start for everyone? It's been ongoing for years for our team, but coincidentally it seemed to be around the time Mac was dropping support for bit applications.
We're upgraded to the latest software for our bit operating systems since, but the problem still persists. Sorry, but nothing works on Mac, none of the tricks mentioned here on the page improved the sluggish scrolling both of Acrobat Pro AND Reader both Please do not suggest updating drivers for peripherals, since everything is from Apple and regularly updated Latest Big Sur update.
Shift Cmd-H and "automatischer Bildlauf" are dimmed and inactive. I've made a movie since the company reps here were not able to reproduce the effects. Hi There, Thanks for reaching out. Let us know how it goes Regards Amal. In Response To Amal. Hi, I noticed that at the time of your prior post you mentioned that you updated your Acrobat to the latest.
Yet, during this same month three more updated has been published since 15th of October. Create an issue in tracker. Hi, I think this may be resolved by modifying a registry or Plist lockable preference for the rendering speed during scrolling or zooming. See in my slide below an important observation though: The other issue with non-lockable preferences is that, even if you manage to customize a deployment of Acrobat like this, it may be possible that with every future update this preference will revert to its Superfast Drawing default state, which is always enabled.
Correction to the information highlighted in my slide above. The About Adobe Plug-Ins dialog box displays the file name of the selected plug-in, and a brief description of its function. The Dependencies pane displays a list of other plug-ins that depend on the selected plug-in for proper functioning.
Examine the list of plug-ins and their descriptions and note the file names of plug-ins you do not require. For example, if you do not work with forms in Acrobat note the Forms plug-in for disabling after ensuring that you also do not require the dependent plug-ins. Depending on the plug-ins you have disabled, the next time you open a PDF document, Adobe Acrobat will load faster, and with only the required toolbars and menu options.
If you want to open a PDF document only for reading, without having to wait for all the plug-ins to load, or having to move the plug-in files, you can temporarily disable the plug-ins in Acrobat. Press the Shift key while double-clicking the PDF file you want to open. Adobe Acrobat does not load any of the plug-ins while opening the document.
However, many of the document manipulation features are unavailable. Include your email address to get a message when this question is answered. Helpful 0 Not Helpful 0. Now if I copy and paste the 2nd PDF that is causing the trouble to the desktop of the remote PC, it transfers in about 15 seconds or less and will open instantly up once on the remote PC's desktop and opened locally.
At the corporate site where the server is located any user can open the troublesome 2nd PDF up instantly. I would try saving them at smaller file sizes. Open up a pdf file, go to Edit, then click on Preferences in the pull-down. On the left, near the bottom, click on Security, then unclick the box near the top that says "verify signatures when the document is opened". This sounds like you may have virus scanning going on when you attempt to open that secondary PDF that may be causing this.
That's how I would do it. However this is a client of mine who can barely save a PDF to the file share as is and is furious as to why one opens fast and one opens slow when they are the same size. Over a WAN link, subtle differences like this can amplify how slow things open.
